Dogs!

The dogs love to swim in Lake Washington (until it gets too cold!). Skye has a tendency to start swimming towards any ducks and forgets how far from shore she is getting so I am always worried that I will someday need to go rescue her if she goes too far.

Garden Updates

In spite of our lack of much of a summer this year, my garden did fairly well. I did get lots of carrots, beans, tomatoes, peas, lettuce and beets but not much luck with corn and squash (they need more heat than we got this year).

Fun with Nieces!

My brother and my two nieces stayed with us last week and I got to spend several days just having fun with Katelyn and Sierra. We visited the zoo, the aquarium, rode the ferries, worked in the garden, cooked and just had lots of good times!

Finally!

Time to start blogging again after many months of no posts...

Lots of kayak time this summer - I finished my basic kayak certification class and am now taking more advanced classes and looking for the right kayak to buy.

My Favorite Restaurant

My favorite restaurant is in Japan! And the best time to be at this restaurant is during the cherry blossom time. Tonight we went up to the small mountain valley where the restaurant is located. The restaurant actually consists of many small, traditional Japanese tea houses winding up the valley between beautiful Japanese gardens and ponds.
