Mac's House

Aaron and Kim gave me their doghouse since they were no longer using it and Mac loves it. Adam taught him to go in on the command, "go home" and Mac willingly goes in and naps. Of course, at nighttime, Mac is happy to sleep inside!

Ali and the ponies of Chincoteague

Ali and Morgan spent a week in Virginia at Morgan's parents. They live close to the islands of Assateague and Chincoteague which are famous from the Marguerite Henry children book, Misty of Chincoteague (if you didn't grow up with this book like Ali and I did, go here for a brief history.

Morgan took Ali out to Assateague to see the wild ponies, as well as to a Chincoteague pony ranch which has ponies that are descendants of Misty. Ali was thrilled and I was very jealous :-), but she brought me back pictures!

July 4th - Part 2

The day had a lot of other highlights - pictures show my niece Katelyn with Mac giving her a kiss, my niece Sierra in the water, my sister-in-law, Gale (and me) with our fancy Indiana Jones drinks, Adam on the zip line and Scott and Josh celebrating years of friendship over fireworks (since high school). We also celebrated Scott, Josh and Dave's 50th birthdays!

July 4th - Part 1

In keeping with tradition, we went to Scott's best friend's cabin on the Sound for the annual 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza! This year's team was "Men of Adventure - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Boom" :-).
Scott's firework show was awesome. He and Josh had several rafts in the water with loads of fireworks wired to a electrical board on the deck of the cabin. They coordinated music and readings with the fireworks and it was impressive and lasted for 30 minutes.
The pictures show the rafts at low tide as Scott is working on them, one picture when Scott went out to anchor the big raft down more securely (the weather was making it dip in the waves alarmingly), a picture showing high tide and then a picture of the finished product!

Katelyn, Sierra and the chickens

My nieces, Katelyn and Sierra (and their parents) are here for the annual 4th of July extravaganza (more on that later). This morning we got up and one of the chickens had laid a egg!
